Tour Itinerary:

 

Day 01: Arrive Haridwar/Rishikesh – Joshimath (Approx. 275 Km | 9–10 Hrs)

 

  • Drive through the scenic Alaknanda River valley via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Nandprayag.
  • Enjoy breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and picturesque mountain roads throughout the journey.
  • Reach Joshimath and relax for the trek beginning the next day.
  • Night Stay: Joshimath

 

Day 02: Joshimath – Govindghat – Ghangaria (Approx. 22 Km Drive + 10 Km Trek | 6–7 Hrs)

 

  • Drive to Govindghat, the starting point of the trek.
  • Trek to Ghangaria, passing through forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, and the beautiful Lakshman Ganga River.
  • Ghangaria is the base village for both Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.
  • Night Stay: Ghangaria

 

Day 03: Ghangaria – Valley of Flowers – Ghangaria (Trek)

 

  • Visit the Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for thousands of blooming alpine flowers.
  • Walk through colorful meadows surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks, glaciers, and sparkling streams.
  • Spot rare Himalayan flora, butterflies, and, with luck, wildlife such as the Himalayan Monal or Blue Sheep.
  • Return to Ghangaria.
  • Night Stay: Ghangaria

 

Day 04: Ghangaria – Hemkund Sahib – Ghangaria (Trek)

 

  • Early morning trek to Hemkund Sahib, one of the highest Sikh pilgrimage sites at approximately 4,329 meters.
  • Visit the sacred Gurudwara and the pristine glacial Hemkund Lake, surrounded by majestic mountains.
  • Enjoy the peaceful spiritual atmosphere before trekking back to Ghangaria.
  • Night Stay: Ghangaria

 

Day 05: Ghangaria – Govindghat – Joshimath (Approx. 10 Km Trek + 22 Km Drive | 5–6 Hrs)

 

  • Trek downhill to Govindghat while enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery.
  • Drive back to Joshimath.
  • Evening free for relaxation or local exploration.
  • Night Stay: Joshimath

 

Day 06: Joshimath – Haridwar/Rishikesh Departure (Approx. 275 Km | 9–10 Hrs)

 

  • After breakfast, drive back through the beautiful Himalayan valleys.
  • Arrive at Haridwar or Rishikesh for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.

Best Time to Visit:

 

  • Mid-July to Mid-August: Peak flowering season with the valley covered in colorful alpine flowers.

  • Late August to Early September: Flowers begin changing, lush green landscapes, fewer crowds, and excellent photography opportunities.

  • Park Opening: Generally 1st June every year.

  • Park Closing: Generally 31st October every year.

  • Ideal Months: July, August, and early September.

 

Important Traveler Instructions:

 

  • Valley of Flowers is accessible only by trekking; no vehicles are allowed inside the park.

  • A moderate fitness level is required as the trek involves steep uphill and downhill sections.

  • Start trekking early every morning to complete the hike comfortably.

  • Carry valid government photo ID for permits and hotel check-in.

  • Wear waterproof trekking shoes with good grip.

  • Carry raincoat/poncho, warm clothing, gloves, woollen cap, and extra socks as weather changes quickly.

  • Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottle, personal medicines, energy snacks, and a small backpack.

  • Walking sticks are highly recommended for easier trekking.

  • Avoid plastic littering and help preserve the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.

  • Due to high altitude, stay hydrated and avoid alcohol or smoking during the trek.

  • Pony and helicopter services (subject to availability and weather) are available only up to Ghangaria; the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib must be explored on foot.

  • Weather and trekking conditions may change due to rainfall, landslides, or government advisories.
