Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu & Evening Aarti

  • Transfer: Kathmandu Airport to Hotel (Approx. 5–7 km | 20–30 mins)
  • Evening Activity: Visit to Pashupatinath Temple for Aarti.

Pashupatinath Temple (Evening Aarti) Located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, this UNESCO World Heritage site is the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal. Every evening, a mesmerizing Bagmati Aarti is performed by priests, involving large oil lamps, rhythmic chanting of Vedic mantras, and classical music. The atmosphere becomes deeply spiritual as hundreds of devotees gather on the opposite bank to witness the "dance of lights." You will also observe the ancient cremation rituals on the Arya Ghats, which offer a profound reflection on the cycle of life and death. The temple complex itself is a masterpiece of pagoda architecture, featuring a gilded roof and silver-plated doors.

 

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara via Manakamana

Manakamana Temple Situated atop a high ridge in the Gorkha district, this temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, believed to be the fulfiller of wishes. To reach the shrine, you will enjoy a scenic 10-minute Cable Car ride that glides over lush green hills and deep river valleys. From the temple premises, you can see spectacular panoramic views of the Manaslu, Himchuli, and Annapurna mountain ranges. The temple follows a traditional multi-roofed pagoda style and is a bustling hub of pilgrims and local traders. It provides a perfect spiritual break during the long drive from the capital to the lakeside city of Pokhara.

 

Day 03: Sarangkot Excursion & Pokhara City Tour

Sarangkot & Pokhara Sightseeing The day begins with a pre-dawn drive to Sarangkot, a premier hilltop viewpoint famous for its breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna Massif and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) peaks. After breakfast, you will explore Davi’s Falls, a unique waterfall that disappears into an underground tunnel, and the nearby Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, which houses a sacred Shiva lingam. You will also visit the Bindhyabasini Temple, the oldest temple in Pokhara, and enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake. The tour concludes with a visit to the Seti River Gorge, where the milky-white river flows deep within a narrow limestone chasm.

 

Day 04: Pokhara to Chitwan & Tharu Culture

Tharu Village & Culture Dance Upon reaching the subtropical plains of Chitwan, you will visit a traditional Tharu Village to observe the unique lifestyle of the indigenous Tharu people. Their houses, built of mud, clay, and grass, feature beautiful traditional wall paintings and reflect a life lived in harmony with the jungle. In the evening, you will witness a high-energy Tharu Cultural Dance performance, featuring the famous "Stick Dance" and "Fire Dance." These performances tell stories of their ancestors' bravery and their deep connection to the local wildlife and agriculture. It is a vibrant introduction to the cultural diversity of Nepal's Terai region.

 

Day 05: Chitwan Jungle Activities

Chitwan National Park Activities Your adventure begins with a thrilling Elephant Back Safari (or Jeep Safari) through the dense tall grasslands, providing the best chance to spot the endangered One-horned Rhinoceros and various deer species. Later, a serene Canoe Ride on the Rapti River offers close-up views of gharials, mugger crocodiles, and diverse water birds along the banks. You will also visit the Elephant Breeding Center to see mother elephants and their playful calves. The day is filled with nature walks and bird watching, allowing you to immerse yourself in one of South Asia's best-preserved wildlife habitats.

 

Day 06: Chitwan to Kathmandu & Valley Temples

Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath & Jala Narayan After returning to Kathmandu, you will visit Swoyambhunath Stupa (the Monkey Temple), perched on a hilltop offering a 360-degree view of the valley and decorated with the watchful eyes of Buddha. Next is Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest spherical stupas in the world and a center for Tibetan Buddhism, surrounded by monasteries and shops. Finally, you will visit the Jala Narayan Temple (Budhanilkantha), which features a magnificent 5-meter-long stone statue of Lord Vishnu reclining on a bed of serpents in a cosmic pond. These three sites represent the deep-rooted religious harmony between Hinduism and Buddhism in Nepal.

 

Day 07: Departure
